Sometimes a change of scenery and a change of pace go a long way to helping us get perspective in life. At BetterDays, we appreciate this fact and take it seriously. In fact, our trademark is GO OUTSIDE! This is a shortened version of Jesus’ longer teaching about anxiety and worry. Faced with the look of concern in his disciple’s eyes, he told them to leave their worry behind and to consider the powerful and abundant ways God cares for flowers and birds (Matthew 6:25-34; also, Psalm 104). Jesus, in a sense, instructed them to exit the narrow confines of their worries so that they could enter into the wide open space of God’s love for them. If God cares that much for the flowers, Jesus pointed out, how much more so will he care for you? At BetterDays, we have extensive experience in creating conditions that highlight Jesus’ teaching. Discovery is a simple and quiet retreat for rest and rejuvenation. It is a place and time to rediscover the Spirit at work, calling you deeper into the journey of faith in God. Meditating on Scripture, time in nature, simple meals, and prayer walks are all meant to heighten the awareness of God's powerful and abundant presence. BetterDays provides guidance and instruction in the Christian disciplines, creative exercises, small group discussions, and personal direction. Odyssey brings together the elements of Encounter and Discovery into a backcountry adventure of backpacking, rafting, and orienteering.
