Cornerstone

Pledging $5000 or more to help fund the total matching gift of $100,000

Nine individuals pledging a minimum of $5000 will get us to our goal of a matching fund totaling $100,000. We already have pledges totaling $55,000!

Terms for Cornerstone participants : Each Cornerstone giver is only responsible to match up to the maximum amount of their pledge, which can be described as a percentage of the total Cornerstone fund.  For example, if donor "A" has pledged $50K of a $100K grand total for the fund while donor "B" has pledged to match up to $10K of a total $100K fund, donor "A" would match 50 cents of each dollar raised and donor "B" would match 10 cents of each dollar raised in the second phase of the campaign.  If we fall short of the $200K ultimate goal from both phases we still have time for additional fund raising at year-end, but this effort should really be aimed at the next year (2009).   Cornerstone givers will only match up to the stated maximum of $100K (for an ultimate total of $200K), but any amounts raised above this ultimate target will be retained for future investment in the ministry.

Steps:

• Contributors will receive a letter from BetterDays asking them to confirm their pledged amount.
• A report half way through the matching campaign will be sent keeping them posted of our progress.
• A letter at the close of the campaign will be sent informing them of the total amount received during the campaign.
• They will then match their portions of the campaign according to the amount they pledged: Checks are made Payable to "BetterDays" with "Cornerstone" in the memo.
