Go OutsideTM

Jesus instructed his disciples to leave the confines of their worry and anxiety so as to enter the powerful and abundant presence of God. “Look at the birds of the air... consider the lilies of the field, how they grow... will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” Recognizing the destruction that anxiety and worry had upon His disciples, Jesus called his disciples outside of the worry and into faith in God the Father.
It wasn’t success, security, possessions, power, or prestige that Jesus’ disciples were lacking. We, like Jesus’ audience on the hillside, lack faith in God’s powerful and abundant presence.
Go Outside is the title of our comprehensive program that provides support and encouragement for those who lead. It’s aim is to encourage and promote a life of faith in God through Jesus Christ. It is designed for those who are in leadership positions as it addresses the unique challenges and risks associated with these positions.
Working with a personal guide, participants construct a training regimen that impacts their mind, body and spirit. Each participant uses the three components of Go Outside: Encounter, Discovery, and Odyssey [Have these linked so that they jump down the page to each one].
Go Outside is built upon key orthodox Christian biblical assumptions namely that God is our Creator and Sustainer, and in Christ Jesus, our Redeemer. He has made us and sustains us for the purpose of worship, stewardship, and relationship [make a live link to further explanation]. Jesus makes this vocation a reality for his disciples.
Go Outside is focused on creating conditions within which participants realize the life for which they were created -- a life that is as deeply satisfying as it is God-glorifying.
Encounter
Encounter is the key component in the program. It is a unique counseling/coaching program to aid participants in achieving a formative, Christ-centered rhythm in their daily life. Meeting weekly, biweekly, or monthly with a personal guide, participants are engaged in the daily challenges both personally and professionally. Meetings are confidential. (more info)
Encounter is not professional counseling. We work with several professional counselors and psychiatrists. In the event that it professional therapy or medical care is needed, Chad Karger will help to connect an individual with the caregiver.
Discovery
Discovery is a three-day retreat designed to provide a intensive, simple, quiet, and communal time of focus on the Call of God in Christ Jesus. Over the course of their Go Outside program, participants are asked to attend 2 retreats. (more info)
Odyssey
Odyssey is a week-long retreat built around a wilderness experience that includes whitewater rafting and backpacking. Odyssey is similar to Discovery, compliments the Encounters, but is unique in its scope and challenge. Participants are asked to attend one Odyssey as part of their Go Outside program. (more info)
